During the first year of the project, variable nitrogen fertilisation of three maize crops in the area of Omorfochori, Larissa, was successfully implemented on 23-24 May 2023. To benchmark the variable supply, the experiment design of each crop included four nitrogen fertilisation treatments: zero fertilisation, basic fertilisation, basic + surface fertilisation by the producer, and basic + variable surface fertilisation. Each treatment had three randomised iterations on 6-meter wide and 50-metre long strips. This process will be repeated in 2024 to evaluate the data for two consecutive years.”
